The Mont-Aux-Sources Ultra Trail formerly known as the Mont-Aux-Sources Challenge, is one of the oldest trail running events in South Africa. Since being established in 1992, our goal has always been to offer runners and outdoor enthusiasts alike the opportunity to experience the incredible Drakensberg and connect with this wonderful natural environment.

 

It was established by the Wildlands Conservation Trust now known as the WILDTRUST, to profile South Africa’s spectacular natural heritage while raising funds for the critically endangered Bearded Vulture as well as to support the work of our conservation partner, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife.

In our 32 years of running the event, we have raised over a million rand for the conservation of the Bearded Vulture, a feat we are proud of and will continue to build on for years to come.
